Aileen Condor

Employee of the Month - January 2023

I hereby nominate Aileen Conder, a legal assist in the Civil Division of the Utah County Attorney’s Office as employee of the month for January 2023. Aileen has now worked more than 15 years in the Civil Division. She has worked for most of those years with one of the more demanding attorneys in the Civil Division. This year has been excessively challenging because that demanding attorney became the Civil Division Chief and assumed many responsibilities which meant that Aileen had to learn many new areas, including but not limited to the processing of claims against the County. In addition to her new areas of responsibility, Aileen was assigned a new attorney to the Civil Division which put her in a quasi-training role. Aileen also helped train two new legal assistants to the Civil Division in 2022. Despite all her enormous responsibilities, if you have an emergency (whether in the Civil Division or from another County Department), Aileen will drop what she is doing to help resolve the emergency. The County sure has a lot of emergencies and thanks in part to Aileen many are solved without her getting any credit for role in the resolution.
Aileen has a role with many items that make it on the County Commission Agenda and works very closely with Alice Black and the Commissioners’ Senior Policy Advisors. This role includes putting items on the Commission Agenda; drafting ordinances, resolutions, and contracts; locating and uploading back up documents; and following up with approved items to make sure they get signed and sent to the right parties. Aileen is one of the most consistent employees in the Civil Division and can be seen in the office most days with a great willingness to help. Many of the aforementioned items are in her job description and some are not, but to Aileen she helps no matter what. Also, her job description does not necessarily indicate the level of helpfulness and kindness needed, but she maxes those out. For these reasons and more, Aileen should receive the recognition that she so rightfully deserves and be made the employee of the month for January 2023. ---- Rob Moore

Aileen is diligent, thorough, and always positive. She has been training a new legal assistant that was recently hired, and therefore I have had opportunities to see what a mastery Aileen has over all the needs of attorneys in the division. She can anticipate exactly what we might want in bankruptcy filings, drafting complex resolutions, preparing first versions of interlocal and other agreements, adjusting presentations, keeping records organized, and more. And on top of it all, she keeps the office running smoothly with event planning and countless other tasks that most of us never even have to think about, like organizing donations for important causes in the office. I have really valued her professionalism, attention to detail, and insights. She is a problem solver who often proposes courses of action that are exactly what various departments need to resolve issues efficiently and effectively. She has handled difficult people and situations with skill and a sincere desire to assist the public and address needs, and I would be happy to see Aileen recognized and honored in this way. --- Ben Stanley

Aileen is an exemplary employee. She goes above any beyond her own assignments to help anyone who comes to her. Whenever I have a question, I know I can ask her, and she will always point me in the right direction or pause what she is doing to help me herself. Aileen has recently taken on new assignments herself and has helped train two new legal assistants in our office. From all accounts, she has done an excellent job with all the changes and training. Aside from her proficiency in her job and willingness to help, Aileen is one of the nicest people you will meet in the county and cares about making things better for everyone. ---- Zachary Zundel

List for why Aileen should be employee of the month:

  • Aileen is a superstar.
  • She is incredibly kind and welcoming.
  • She seems to know how to help with any dilemma that the office faces.
  • She is willing to take on the tough assignments and has a positive attitude.
  • She has a PH.D. level understanding of Microsoft Word. She can take documents with atrocious formatting issues and cure any defects within a short amount of time.

I would strenuously recommend Aileen for employee of the month. ---- Adam Beck

I’d like to nominate Aileen Conder for employee of the month. There are many cogs and gears in the wheels that turn the government. Some are better known or appear to do more than others. But everyone knows that deep inside the walls where there is little fanfare, a work horse quietly and diligently pulls more than their own weight, day after day, year after year. Aileen is that work horse of the civil division. She’s always friendly, always doing more than she’s asked, and always a positive force for good in the government. We are lucky to have her, and the people of Utah county, though they don’t know it, are extremely fortunate to have someone like her working for them. Aileen is more than deserving of this this honor. ---- Ben VanNoy

I join in the nomination of Aileen for Employee of the Month. Aileen is an integral part of our team. Her organizational ability and her institutional knowledge of county operations have added to the efficiency of the civil division and our ability to serve the county. She is reliable and super fun to work with! She is also a great hamster trainer. Aileen is very deserving of this award! --- Paul Jones
