It is with great pleasure that we recognize Kaylie Lake as Utah County Health Department’s Employee of the Quarter. Since joining the department, Kaylie has consistently demonstrated excellence, innovation, and dedication in her role as a Health Educator. Her work has had a measurable impact on food access, public health education, and community engagement across the region. Kaylie’s leadership in grant writing and coalition building has been instrumental in advancing health equity. Notable accomplishments include:

• Securing a $25,000 grant to develop a Healthy Food Access Action Plan. • Founding and leading the Mountainlands Regional Food Access Steering Committee. • Serving as Treasurer for the Utah Chapter of the Society of Public Health Education. • Establishing partnerships that support food security, nutrition education, and breastfeeding accommodations.

Her work spans a wide range of initiatives—from promoting farmers markets and SNAP benefits to support community gardens and workplace nutrition policies. Kaylie’s ability to connect with stakeholders, develop sustainable programs, and advocate for underserved populations reflects her deep commitment to public health.

In addition to her professional achievements, Kaylie is admired for her character and work ethic. She balances her responsibilities with grace, all while being a devoted wife and mother to her young daughter. Her colleagues describe her as:

She has been a tremendous ally in helping our organization fight food insecurity and is instrumental in addressing determinants of health within our communities. Kaylie is passionate about helping organizations improve their services and works tirelessly to accomplish this work.”
